When a war criminal praises you, it's not a good thing.

Fired and put in jail. They're no way that with Hegseth's background, and the fact this was a defense conversation, that he did not know that a journalist was in this list. Seems to me it is either directly his fault or one of his staffers.

Zebedee, John and James' father, deciding to leave being a fisherman and wanting to buy an olive grove to become a merchant, just like a good ol' modern entrepreneur. And then Jesus basically argues his way out of a cliff-dive. The Bible is unclear of how Jesus escapes this. 9/9

It was like an informal Bible study, where even the women are allowed to speak. Sorry if that sounds misogynistic, but that's how things were then. In first-century Palestine, this would not have been "informal." It would have been sacrilegious and blasphemous! 8/9

In Nazareth inventing the first AWANA game (hot potato-Jesus is really bad at hot potato). Then they go into the synagogue for Jesus to read the scrolls that are about to get him in hot water. The way this "service" is conducted is so far from the way it would have been. 7/9

One of the most juvenile perspectives on the pre-trib end-times ever presented on paper. But that's what you'd expect from a writer of teen-aged Christian novels (starring a boy named Dallas, no less). And in this episode, we have Jesus, Lazarus, and friends. 6/9

Episode 3. And right at the beginning, I noticed why the anachronisms stuck out so badly. I don't know if all of "The Chosen" was directed by him, but this episode was written and directed by Dallas Jenkins, son of Jerry Jenkins, of the Left Behind series fame. 5/9

It's way too early for that. I would not expect it to look Protestant either--it's even farther off for that. I expect it to look Jewish, in the first-century Palestine. This got so bad after two seasons, I swore I would not watch it again. But I did anyway. I'm on Season 3. 4/9

Is transcribing everything Jesus is saying. None of the gospels were written until 40-50 years later, likely none of them written by the persons who they are named after, regardless of what tradition says. I am Catholic. I would not expect this period to look Catholic. 3/9

I found that annoying, but it was not that that bothered me the most. What bothered me the most about it was the anachronistically forcing our modern, American views on relationships and a flippant attitude toward God. What first bugged me is making it look like Matthew. 2/9

And the oft told axiom that anti-abortioners often say is that people use abortion as birth control is a myth. Blaming all abortion on the behavior of a few is the same thing that conservatives tend to do with illegal aliens in blaming them all for the illegal actions of a few.
