George admonished Jerry that “it’s not a lie if you believe it.” As regards tariffs, Trump told his supporters they’d be beautiful and cause no pain. Logically, by acknowledging they may cause at least some pain. I guess he now doesn’t believe his own prior statements, and is admitting he lied.
