He can play the part, sure! He loves theatre after all. I’m sure he’s done that before. He merely plays the part of a vengeful king to keep himself and his family safe. The only time he’s ever been shown to us as vindictive is when someone threatened his daughter.. Rightfully so.

I know that people think it’s hot when he’s all powerful and fiendish, but it always felt a little out of character for him. I’m sure he’d love to take out some rage on a sinner he couldn’t stand, like Vox. But to actually be a sinister, and sadistic demon king? Nah.

Vox riles up Lucifer and gets him to seem threatening in front of the sinners. It makes him look dangerous to them all. And to add the cherry on top, maybe Vox even says that Lucifer is the reason for the exterminations, and it’s because he “hates 98% of sinners.” Plus, he’s an angel ruling Hell…
