Spent some time in the other place, and I think I got him boxed in to answering the question (he won’t, but can’t let these people think they’re clever)

“We see the article differently” = I did in fact reread what was said but am embarrassed that I’m stupid

Sadly, GOP elected officials are just unprincipled people who cravenly seek power

There are too many streaming services but they all have unique factors that make them impossible to quit

Max - TCM and WB releases
Prime - great collection of B-movies
Disney + Hulu - classic tv & some good movies
Peacock - some of my favorite sitcoms
Netflix - idk, just the original?

I don’t think believe in God or miracles, but I’m reading Veronica Lake’s autobiography and very narrowly avoided Alan Ladd’s fate this week (some of my previous posts can provide context) so there is now a window were I might be convinced of the existence of Old Hollywood guardian angels

There’s a patriarchal read here, that’s honestly more than fair, but I think it does distillate how far Americans have fallen as a people

So I’m just screaming into the void but I could use some support. I’m in active addiction at the moment and I’m kinda scared. I’m drinking like I have a death wish and it’s bad. I need some help stopping but don’t know what to do

I think what breaks my heart the most is that more Americans than not voted for a less free society. It’s what revealed to me that the America I lived in as a first-gen American ceased to exist long ago, and what I loved was a memory

I’m very glad everyone is enjoying Wicked. Truly. However, Bluesky seems to think my enthusiasm for the film is much stronger than it is and has shown me dozens of posts about it. I’d mute the word, but alas, I am from Boston; to mute “wicked” would be to mute part of myself

As a kid, I would joke that my parents (split since I was born, both very present) getting married would be a sign of the end times. But lo and behold she needs Irish citizenship so it may happen. As much as I hope I was wrong, I’m not entirely sure I wasn’t prophetic lol

I think it’s swell that news outlets are now sending push notifications with stories talking about Trump’s policies. Much better to do it now than before the election. Top shelf work

I really do mourn for my country. I love Her so. As a first generation American, I’ve come to appreciate it in a way many don’t. I thought we did, but this last decade has proven me wrong. And I’m sad for the country I love, and sadder that it seems it never existed

I know the world is fucked and there’s nothing we can do and America will fall to fascism; but let’s not let these women slip from memory. May we all have the courage of Ahou Daryaei or Mahsa Amini in the times to come
