This is not in fact correct as Oracle just came after my company for this very kind of thing. Also if you do distribute it, the end user also needs to purchase licensing, not just you as the developer.

The no special characters and limited length thing is actually a technical limitation. Most of those financial systems run on old as400 or mainframe systems that are 30+ years old when security was an after thought.

I'm sure Anthropic is very happy with this deal. It's a drop in the bucket compared to how much money they will make going forward, continuing to profit off these stolen works.

Looks like an AI logo

I have a strong appreciation for 2D, largely because most 3D games make me motion sick. I don't think it's an uncommon problem either.

Well that post was a lot of BS. many of the examples you gave had nothing to do with open source software. I mean, you listed the Microsoft exchange attack. Of the few open source related examples you gave, you listed XZ utils twice. All to promote your proprietary software.

May I introduce you to Linux?

Does it run on Linux?

Are you lost, little boy? I think you meant to go to X. Just head down the street and take a left at the garbage dump.

There is also the problem that most AIs are trained on copyrighted work without the owner's approval. That is no different than stealing someone else's work. If you had labed this AI and it was trained on open source data I would have no problem with it.

There is nothing inherently wrong with AI, and there is a skill involved in promoting it to generate exactly what you want. The problem is that by your own admission, you were hoping people would think it was a real photo.

Frankly I think it's pretty terrible that people like you call yourselves artists and try to trick people with someone else's work.

Pretty clearly AI to me, which is what prompted me to check your page.

I would say the argument isn't that these companies provided a service, but rather they intentionally deceived people and used money and influence to unfairly suppress options that did not cause the same damage.

There is strong evidence that these companies have known for decades the damage fossil fuels do to the planet. They have also spent millions spreading misinformation and lobbying against alternatives such as wind, solar, nuclear, and geothermal.

Opening a window? Are you really that stupid or are you intentionally being an ass?

Our black cat likes to sleep on the stairs in the dark. I believe his goal is to eliminate us and take ownership of the house.

This is a deep fake, and whether or not it was made with good intentions, that's not ok.

It's not the default in America, but in the last 5 - 10 years a lot of parents have started doing it.

If you liked Mint, stick with it. Its a great distro for both of those things.

Steam and Lutris have made gaming on Linux seamless for about 80% of games. The major issue you run into is kernel level anti cheat. That does not work.
