I can't sew a straight line, but because I also can't cut straight, I can't even use the seam guide I bought lol
Seam ripping is so much more time-consuming on machine stitches too since there's two threads

I'm trying to sew my first project with it rn, the same crossbody bag I successfully handsewed a weeks ago, and I'm so bad at literally everything lol

I've never had a deadline be that close and people be that nonchalant about it. I work 8am-5pm and they didnt get back to me until 7pm last night so this could've been really bad 🫠
They haven't emailed me back yet confirming receipt of what I sent over, so there's still time for this to go poorly...

The whole evening was just really fun and was a nice way to spend an evening. I'm really glad we got to go ☺️

The reason this ballet caught my attention initially though is because the advertising for it mentioned there'd be like a pre-show lecture on the Ballet Russe, who I absolutely love. I just couldn't miss the chance to see that and a ballet I would've been interested in attending anyway.

Like I mentioned, I got us two front row seats, and I paid for parking, and it was only about $100. The few other ballets I've gone to, I spent about $150 on two seats just to be in the center in the middle section

The two acts I didn't really vibe with still had exciting moments though and tbh that's all I need. Just have the male lead come out and do some big leaps and I'll be satisfied lmao
The best part about the whole night though was that it was super cheap?? I think bc it was an original performance

Of the 4 acts, I really really enjoyed two of them, and the other two were just very standard ballet performances to me and were borderline a little boring at times. There were some really high highs and the lows were honestly just ok but still perfectly sufficient

The lyrical one was also the only act of the 4 to have live musicians, a pianist and a cellist, and they were on the stage directly in front of us. I've never been to a ballet with live music before and holy shit did it enhance the vibes of the number

One act was lyrical dance instead of ballet and was so expressive. I got us front row (tho way off to the side) seats and the best part about the lyrical act was that we were so close to the stage we could hear the dancers' breathing and, though unintentional, I loved what it added to the experience

The ballet itself was actually really different and fun to watch. It was more of a compilation and had 4 distinct acts that fit under a uniting theme rather than being one continuous story like The Nutcracker or Swan Lake.
