I'm not familiar with this specific situation but it resonates with something I've found myself observing a lot, which is that subsets of fandom feel entitled to have a character be whomever they want them to be in order to fulfil their fantasies (erotic or otherwise)
It's so cool having a muscle tweak that is unrelated to any way you'd deliberately move but is exacerbated (and was ultimately caused by) your dipshit body involuntarily doing something in a dipshit way

One thing that sometimes resolves things a bit for me is to go: okay, so what?
Like, what am I going to do besides what I want to and am capable of (hopefully with incremental improvement to the latter)?
