I understand your gut reaction to my suggestion, I don't love our goverment, but I sure as hell trust them more than big tech. Also I don't like interference in our democracy and what's what we're getting with U.S owned social media.

I didn't say goverment run, I implied goverment funded, the goverment would provide the guidelines + regulations and it would be run independently similiarly to how the ABC operates. The ABC is a media organisation that is run as a public service. I'm suggesting social media as a public service.
