I know your position is that a sports team ownership is a public trust and should expect to fund operating losses with their own money. But their own money is not under a mattress, it it is invested in other companies, other industries or personal charitable foundations. Take that money out?

I came on the Blue Sky to predict we will hear from Chuck on the Cubs today. He loves this.

So he was a friend of his, they communicated almost every day, the friend's widow invited him specifically, he checked in with his manager, the front office, and teammates, and they supported it. Just curious, why do you think that makes it worse?

Interesting, curious about the comment that the "super rich don't like to lose money". Does anybody like to lose money?

Honestly don't know and yes to a point everything has some help but it seems like football stadiums given their single purpose and cost for 11 games make it impossible for a private funding.

Serious question, does a 100% privately financed football stadium exist?

There are costs associated with the revenues generated around Wrigley and like the players, theworkers like to be paid too!. Also, my understanding is the development projects all have partners, the partners would also like to be paid for their investments.

Are you suggesting the overall revenue difference between the Tampa Bay rays and the Yankees is less than Rams and the Packers?

Need some context? But When I asked a similar question at the other place you reported me and I got permanently banned :)

I am new to this but I thought I saw them clarify "franchise" leader before. I guess I can assume it only relates to time as a Cub

They also messed that one up, Glenville played mostly centerfield not left!

What is your source for the Braves making money? This is their financials from their 10K which you referred to.
January 8, 2025 at 1:58 AM
I kind of get the idea that baseball is not a typical business. I would say the revenues produced by baseball should be put back in the team to the players and other team investments. I think most teams due this today. Leave their other money in the trucking and law firms you mention.

Or the Mariners?
December 31, 2024 at 3:47 AM
Serious question, do you think the Padres and Twins are making money?

To be clear, 170 was the operating revenue, net income was 22 which was a 6% profit margin
