We talked about this in therapy recently. Even though we try to blend in, it still comes off as unauthentic. We are pretending to be someone we’re not in an effort to be accepted. I’d love to be liked more. Invited out more. Maybe one day I’ll find the cheat code. If I do, I’ll let you know.

To him it’s a joke. If it wasn’t intentional, just apologize. Say you’re sorry for what you did and how it came across. Express remorse. But no, he makes jokes.
