The number of admissions for RSV and rotavirus kept us at capacity most winters. It was mostly infants and toddlers. The suffering is unnecessary.

I used to work on a pediatric unit before RSV and rotavirus vaccines were a thing. Can’t stress enough how important it is to have them!

Are they quietly recognizing that insurance companies ARE the problem?

Insurance is the gatekeeper indicating who gets what treatment & who doesn’t. Insurance companies require so much information that providers are spending time and $$ to address that rather than patient care.

She’s actually from Stanton, a town near Red Oak. There are 3 critical access hospitals within 25 miles of her hometown & all would be at risk of closing. Those hospitals are among the largest employers in each town. Not only would it jeopardize healthcare but the local economy would tank.

Please step up and do something, anything. Lip service is less than adequate. We know what is happening, we need our leaders to step up and take actual action.
