My 5 and 6 year old self LOVED the Goofy Movie! I was devastated when someone stole my VHS copy
If you want a great example of a movie that didn't catch on until later, look at old reviews of A Goofy Movie. That thing is now regarded as a millennial touchstone, but nearly every review from 1995 is like "Eh, doesn't a Disney character like Goofy deserve better than this??"
