Yeah it sucks and I hate it. I got my mom a subscription to a music service last year and ended up printing out an info page about it will silly graphics just to liven it up and wrapping that in a box. She loved the gift but as a gift-opening experience it was not terribly exciting.

My husband did this with oatmeal cookies and I was weirdly incensed. Like, the cookies weren't a disaster, they were fine, but there are so many recipes out there already that were created and tested by people who could actually taste and describe them. Where is the value in asking AI to do this?

My first thought was "how could they even conceive of doing this if they didn't already have a buyer" and then I remembered that people do insane things for bad reasons all the time! Nothing makes any sense so why should this! I'm going with "hypercompetitive Secret Santa."

Can I interest anyone in Gossip (2000)? Just like at like a #7?
