It’s a sewer, but I like having access to at least one major media source that the United States cannot control. Yes, the PRC is bad, but you can read news that the PRC doesn’t control by going in Meta platforms or X or whatever.

Who cares what the PRC is doing with half the voting pop when Meta, Twitter and the mainstream media are about to try and Nazify 99% of the voting pop?

I hope, and do think, you’re more likely to be right than not. But there’s a larger issue of trust in the federal gov’t that Trump is only an unusually acute manifestation of, not the whole thing in and of itself.

My point being that it goes a lot deeper than Trump. A lot of Americans distrust, if not outright hate, their federal gov’t, and not for no reason.

Will it be another Pres who’ll do stuff like … lie us into a war in Iraq? Or a war in Vietnam? Or tell us that tobacco is safe to smoke? Or that it’s safe to sell GM & Ford vehicles to Hitler’s Germany? Or that we can arm the Afghan Mujahedeen w/out them flying planes into our buildings layer?

This here is genuinely the biggest divide, who’s a bigger threat to your daily life as an American: the PRC or the US federal gov’t (especially the incoming self-described dictatorship of Donald Trump)
