However, I believe Dr. King's words ring true even today. I believe that if those who deeply value character, honesty, integrity transparency, goodwill, and the type of love that doesn't stop at race, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, etc...

The irony is striking on this Monday, the same day that this year we all witness a transition of the most powerful position in our land that has left millions of people in our country afraid and uncertain. In fact, uncertainty is one of the greatest fears, isn't it?

I have witnessed first hand the toll anxiety and depressive symptoms can have on individuals and families, and I will work with council and our school board to make meaningful impacts on the mental health of our citizens.

As Mayor, I will make this one of my top priorities by implementing new mental health resources available for our community as well as new initiatives and activities to help cultivate a sense of belonging and safety for our children.
