Not defending Miller, who has been brutal, but let’s unpack this clip:
1. This was at the end of a long shift (over 1 minute).
2. Neither the puck carrier nor the cutting Hutton are JT’s responsibility. He probably should cover the high slot filling in for Mika.
3. This needs to be a save.

JL once alluded to a point on the podcast that the #NYR should put specific players in positions to succeed that fit their skills. (The topic was where to put Noah Laba) They did it with Laba being the 3C and now Perreault on L1. This is how prospects grow and develop properly.
Mike Sullivan on Perreault being in the top 6:
"Our intention is to try to set him up for success so he can play with strengths. So in other words, I don't know that makes a whole lot of sense to call a player up like that and put him on in the bottom six role."
