I've always thought that the "Cards Clubbers" was funny because it depicts two guys who were definitely not "Clubbers". Maybe "Thieves" would have been a better name, considering they were the top base stealers.

I agree about the 188 strikeouts, that's pretty high for an MVP candidate. The modern game overlooks strikeouts, which drives me crazy. I hate the fact that the game has devolved into a homerun/strikeout show.

Bench and Yogi hit under .275 in MVP seasons. Shohei hit .257 in 2021. Maris hit .269 the year he hit 61. It's rare but not unprecedented.
Granted, .247 is the lowest BA of all of them, but it is a pretty outdated metric.
