Bit late but here’s my September reading wrap up. Loved all of these but my fave here is definitely Dissolution by Nicholas Binge - very smart, well written sci-fi/thriller, highly recommend!

August reading done ✅
Only managed 3 books this month due to 2 of them being chunkies!
Weaveworld by Clive Barker was a re-read, read it decades ago and it certainly hasn’t lost its magic 🤌🏼
Goal 36/50

So many profound moments in this book, as North dissects war and death through the eyes of the characters

Currently reading: The End of the Day by Claire North.
This story follows Charlie, the recently appointed Harbinger of Death…. not even a year into the job and he seems to be having an existential crisis! Brilliant writing as always from North 👌🏼

My second read from this brilliant author this month. How to describe this one? Literary dystopian crime thriller, with a hint of 1984 and a dash of Handmaid’s Tale… intriguing and compelling 👌🏼

April 25 reading wrap up: Another great reading month down! Loved all these, especially a re-read of The Shining by Stephen King. Absolute classic. Only one I didn’t really take to was The Purple Cloud which was a bit meh. Let me know if you’ve read any of these 📚

Before Hunger Games, before Squid Games, Stephen King was killin’ it (pun intended!) with The Long Walk. Published 1979. Was he the first to do the dystopian “humans dying for entertainment on a game show” kinda genre? Let me know any others I should know about!
