I just helped run a campaign in my small town against developers. You should have seen all the hate comments on my posts. Men, women, all ages. They attacked my integrity, which matters more to me than how I look to them. trumpf unleashed the dogs on all of us, giving them permission to bite.

Before anyone asks: obviously the deaths in Ukraine matter. What's shocking about the Russian statistic is this is a cost Putin is fine enacting on his own people.

I really thought we'd emerge from covid with an appreciation of the frailty of life. But Ukraine, Gaza, Sudan... the causal dehumanization of refugees... it's hard not to feel like we're all just bodies for the elite meat grinder.
