They’re waiting to have the House majority so an impeachment vote would actually pass and make it to the Senate.

You’re right on that. The entire tax code is a scam, with special carve outs and exemptions. We’d be far better off charging a flat tax rate on every dollar above poverty level for individuals and a flat corporate tax rate based on book income.

It’s meant to incentivize small business & the self-employed. It’s income limited (taxpayers must earn less than $191K if not a service profession or &75k if a service profession (law, accounting, etc). It’s no different than special tax treatment for tips & overtime that wage earners get.

How about using the real quote “Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”

Yet none of you defending these churches can answer the question of why they they didn’t simply say “bring your baby to the church and we’ll find you some help”. She never asked for money and she said she was willing to come to the church if they would help.

You’ve never known anyone who has been to prison, have you? Toilet paper is like gold. They give out two rolls per week and if you need more the guard will roll off a handful for you.
November 14, 2025 at 3:48 AM
It’s an outrageous privilege when all the non-sextrafficker prisoners there get 2 rolls per week.

The DOJ files were under court seal until Jan 2024. When have you ever seen an AG release all their case files to include identification of people who were not charged without a request from Congress or a court order? These emails aren’t even from the DOJ files.

Do you think we’re all stupid? This is you caving in and throwing millions of Americans off their health care because they can no longer afford the premiums. Even if your so-called vote takes place in the Senate, you have zero commitment it will ever be brought to a vote in the House.

It was an open book test. The book was the Bible and most churches failed. The answer was easy - tell the young woman to come in with the baby and they would help her. Then they could call their contacts until they found someone who could help.

But the subsidies change people’s costs. My daughter’s premium last year was $200/mo after a $650 subsidy (total premium $850) The same plan now is $940/mo premium, but her subsidy dropped to $415. Her out of pocket for monthly premiums will be $525 (over 250% higher).

I already do a weekly shift at my local food pantry. There is no excuse for a church to not have her come in so they could help her. They either believe in what they preach or they don’t. They rake in millions, but can’t spare $20 for formula for a starving baby (or at least find some for her)

).
November 9, 2025 at 3:11 AM
Self serving in what way? This wasn’t an account with a big following and the churches that actually said they would help received lots of donations when it went viral.
November 9, 2025 at 1:12 AM
Hence the reason I would never go to your church. I don’t give a fuck if you think it’s a scammer, you still tell her to come to the church and you’ll figure out a way to help. The church can call the diaper ministry or food pantry when she gets there.
November 9, 2025 at 1:10 AM
But they didn’t offer to phone a friend, they told her to call someone else and that they couldn’t help her. Most of the churches who did say they would help didn’t have food pantries, but told her to come in and they would figure it out.
November 8, 2025 at 11:29 PM
Why is it a lie that they turned her away? Even if they thought there was a 99% chance it was a scam, why not just tell her to come to the church just in case she’s the 1% who’s not scamming? Sounds like they worship Republican Jesus to me.
November 8, 2025 at 11:21 PM
She makes it clear she is calling around, trying to find someone that will help her. Why would someone so broke they can't buy formula be driving around town instead of calling around for help and then going to place that will help her?
November 8, 2025 at 8:08 PM
No, she very specifically said she would come pick it up. She never requests cash or to have anything sent to her.
November 8, 2025 at 8:06 PM
The majority of the churches turning her away are the white evangelical churches. The Black churches, Catholics, & mosques have all been willing to help. Even if you're suspicious, why wouldn't you have her come in?
November 8, 2025 at 7:51 PM
She tells them that she has called all the local food programs & that they recommended she call local churches. The question is, even if they think there is a 90% chance it's a scam, why wouldn't they have her come in rather than risk the 10% chance they are turning away a starving 2 mo old baby?
November 8, 2025 at 7:49 PM
She tells them she lives nearby and will pick it up in person. There’s a recording of a baby crying in the background. One church told her she could fill out an application and she might be approved in 2 weeks.
November 8, 2025 at 4:09 PM
Wrong. She never asks for cash. She only asks for a can of formula. When they try to refer her to someplace else, she tells them she already tried that place. She doesn’t ask them to send her anything, she says she lives nearby and will come pick it up in person with the baby.

And the really funny (not funny) thing is that you get much less food and more Walmart-branded food for the cheaper price.
November 6, 2025 at 5:22 PM
And the court did exactly that, with the chef’s kiss that DOJ agreed to the discovery schedule.
