Feeling bad that - though it's a great set of readings - the authors of the set texts for my Play, Games and Recreation module are not very representative of racial or gender diversity.

This, from Jessica Fern's book Polysecure, captures some of my worries around psychological categories as identities.

Super keen to start more work on my play and games teaching but need to finish marking political philosophy essays. Woe is me indeed.

In my lecture tomorrow I'll talk about my friend Tom who died in 2020 coming down a mountain in Scotland. It's a hard thing to talk about but, for me, speaks well to the need for something beyond simple pleasure to explain value of some lesuire activities. #philsky

Feeling bad that my module reading list is so male, maybe I could increase the size of photos of the women to paper over the poor representation?*

(*Note: obvs this is a 'joke', I will work on actually better representation for next time it runs)

Why do we still have an academic publishing industry that spits out books sold at these restrictive prices? There must be a better way than this? Given printing is cheap & the authors are generally salaried academics, it doesn't seem like the money is needed to fund the scholarship #PhilSky
