Averages are meaningless, aren’t they? If you have 10 taxpayers and one gets a $10,000 tax break and the other gets zero than the average is 1000 per person, but that makes no sense.

So the Service does not want you to call, yet, you need to resolve a problem. What is the answer? Many taxpayers will just give up. And there is not many other options.

I am amazed at how many tax pros in their 40s and 50s still buy into the old model. Seems like the only way to do it is to start your own firm. And I am just to old to do it at this point. I am hoping to find a firm that really believes in a new way of doing business.
