in the interest of "playing the hits" as it were, here's my nice clean desk (back when it was nice and clean)
light linear switches might actually be the devil. switched back to my horrible corsair gaming keyboard and it feels so much better than my good keyboard with like, 35g switches or something. sounds way worse though :(

listen to me if you are designing the UI for a POS system PLEASE listen to me. A Customer is a creature who is absolutely dumb as rocks. By and large they have never encountered a computer before and they certainly will not be reading what it has to say to them. You must understand this.

linux repeatedly causes problems for me but everything i learn about windows makes me feel like i am having an experience that is mind-bogglingly better than the average windows experience. in exchange for like, maybe a cumulative 48 hours of reading over the past year or so

It's insane how much more popular NYC's congestion pricing got when it was implemented and people started actually seeing it work
