Superb thread Niall! I would add that the support of our EU allies going forward will be tempered by how seriously take our defence obligations. The days of perfomatory "neutrality" are over. We have to step up.

Brexit wiped 8% off UK GDP, it was an act of mindless folly based on lies and disinformation. Reeves will not close that gap nor any other Chancellor without admitting the catastrophe that Brexit wrought and the time has come to get serious about joining the EU.

Foreigners are both buying up all the housing stock, taking all the jobs and living off welfare...make it make sense.

"Normal" is doing a lot of heavy lifting

that is jobs lost, public service defunded and creaking.
Yet rather than address the difficult issues of how the UK can set about joining they want an enhanced "Brexit."

These people are Brexiters, their every argument is posited on the EU making strides to accommodate their position without providing anything in return. I'm bored listening to them, they don't understand how the EU works, they see it thru a transactional prism. Brexit wiped 8% off UK GDP
