Line of the show : 'Thou hast most traitorously corrupted the youth of the realm in erecting a grammar school.'

As an attendee of a Lancastrian grammar school founded in the 1500s one could only marvel at the bard's uncanny foresight.

Would have aged considerably better if used in conjunction with the phrase "by Satan himself".

Although perhaps this is just generally true of all MP quotes. I haven't tried it on any others yet.

After 136 years humanity finally discovers the most tasteless possible motion picture.

SBII. Bitmap Bros finest hour, imo.

S/NES was great for super polished arcade titles but Elite was modern PC gaming before the concept existed.

Different scene on home computers, much more open to home brewed creativity.

Lots of modern gaming ideas came from that environment rather than consoles.

C64 sound chip was epic and guys like Tim Follin were doing really brilliant work : youtu.be/z7ZDJ4Lzm80

Iirc the NES chip designer couldn't believe Follin's NES music was possible on a stock chip.

Games with no equal? Elite, BBC micro, 1984.

That's the sort of quality the Euro scene produced.

I mean to be honest if I had to choose between full Skynet apocalypse or a future teeming with increasingly diabolical and intrusive versions of Clippy all armed with the writing of Nick Clegg I'm not sure which one I would pick.

Absolute banger of a theme. 10/10.

It was a heck of an era for tv composing.

Whoever he is he looks like he's about to burst into a soaring rendition of As Long As He Needs Me

Look, I'm no expert but it says "giant fit" but that dude is obviously not a giant.

And even then the hems are so short it looks like he's levitating.

There's something suspicious going on here and no mistake.

I suspect Co-Pilot has pulled that portrait from Earth 617, where she merged with Heseltine in a last ditch effort to salvage cabinet unity.

Incredible scenes.

I can tell you I've never wanted to vote for anyone as much as I want to vote for Norilic Chemizzelium right now.

Perhaps the feeling will pass but I don't think so.

The solution is obvious.

Allow batsmen to have a runner again but stipulate that the runner must be Inzamam, ensuring that it will be a genuine last resort.

It's all fun and games until you get eaten alive by midges.

Terrific stuff. Love all the abseiling panels.

I have two uncles with workplace exposure from the 60s.

One made it to 80 before it killed him and the other is miraculously still batting on, decades after most of his colleagues died.

Grim stuff, really.

I checked my textbook and it says the answer is Outride A Crisis from Super Hang On.

He's going to cure cancer but first he needs royalty free access to the Beatles' back catalogue and every episode of Bonanza.

I was 8 when I got my copy of HTDCTMW and my world was absolutely rocked by this drawing of a lamp.

From then to now I have attempted to copy it god knows how many thousands of times but it remains vastly, unattainably distant, like I'm trying to play Bach with my elbows.

I can't wait to find out what Magnus Carlsen's new job is going to be.

Perhaps his strategic magic could be put to work preventing Sir Keir from making terrible speeches about half baked policy ideas.

The arc of the atomic wedgie is long, but it bends towards justice.

Honestly wtf?

"They should stop defending themselves and dare the Russians into un-invading!"

I want to go back to a world where the morning headlines aren't 100 percent insane.

I always thought he got really tired of Bond and spent the 70s looking for material with more scope, in various ways.

It's hard to know how scripts are going to translate to screen and sometimes weird films happen, but I can only respect the extent to which he was prepared to experiment.
