What drew me to #science is that it's fundamentally creative. It requires creativity to solve problems and to include diverse people with fresh perspectives. I still want to pursue a career in science because, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or orientation, #science saves lives. #SaveNSF

I’ve always wanted a career that would allow me to learn more about the natural world. I just never imagined that I could do this as a scientist. My first perspective of scientists was based on stereotypes, and I wondered how a Latinx would fit in that space. #LSAMP bridged this disparity gap.
