Oh I do that all the time! If I’m struggling to come up with what happens but I know what I want the end result to be, I’ll just say something like [Character A comes up with an idea to fix X which gets them out of their situation] and then I move on. It helps the creative flow.

If you don’t use Dabble, what do you use? Lots of people here use Word or Scrivener and I’m curious.

I think a book relies on the author’s heart for their story’s success. If a story is written for lines = profit, it shows. If a story is written from a deep place or emotion from the author, then that shows too. It’s because of this that I’ve read better fanfiction than some books.

Yep! That’s usually what I do, too. I’ll make notes in a separate doc titled “Remember for draft #” and just go back to writing. If I have an idea I really wanna remember to connect later on, I’ll usually put something directly in the doc like ((THIS IS FORESHADOWING FOR XX))

It helps a ton!

Hello fellow perfectionist! There’s a saying that all the first draft must do is exist. Easier said than done, and I still find myself going back and editing, but I encourage you to keep moving forward. Don’t try and tweak every idea or you’ll never finish. All the first draft must do is exist.☺️

No, I’ve never had the urge to write someone I hate into a story before. Never wanted to give anyone that power—to dwell about what they did to me and immortalize it. They’ve moved on. I should too.

lol, she actually says it with a smile on her face. She’d just won a bet with a friend of hers.
