Last night I watched a yellowjacket eat the face off a stinkbug. I knew wasps were predators, but I didn’t understand their ability to make such quick work of their prey. Whole thing lasted under 5 mins

My daughter has lost 3 teeth in 12 days and for whatever reason the tooth fairy started by bringing her Canadian toonies.

The house is now out of toonies, so we’re pivoting to other currencies, while still trying to maintain format.

A 10 peso piece was a lucky find tonight

Walter Washington is recorded in an oral history discussing how his refusal to allow police to use lethal force against rioters during the fallout of MLK Jr's 1968 assassination gave him local cred & kept the city's fabric intact.

He was later DC's 1st *elected* mayor of the modern era.

If it offers a window into the Canadian psyche, a friend of mine has been spamming my Canadian group chat with increasingly surreal AI generated nationalistic “art”.

It’s anecdotal but illustrative

DC’s snow won’t last long, enjoy it while it lasts

(A solid 5+ inch snow is rare for this 🇨🇦 in DC, let me have it)

Of course search is unavailable at the Congressional Research Service.

Not sure why I expected a government website to have data available

Nature's first sign of spring?

Not the red-winged blackbird or the crocus.
