I dig my fingers into my scalp, trying to yank the memory of him out. Trying to force the hallucination to leave. Go away, I urge silently. Go back to wherever the dead rest. Footsteps tell me that instead of leaving, he is approaching.             My eyes fling open as I drop my hands and say quietly, “You died.”             He stops abruptly, as if my words surprise him. Do ghosts not know they are dead? Do hallucinations believe they are real?
