I first saw George Elliot Clarke speak at Laurentian U in 2002, where he said something that’s always stuck with me: “you can’t just read poetry in a boring monotone; you have sing it, preach it!”

Seeing him at the Parkland Conference this weekend, I’m glad to see that his fire hasn’t diminished.

At long last, all of the Brother Cadfael books are mine!

I suppose I should read them now…

(I will also try not to think about the two of them from Mysterious Press, and so have the wrong covers…)

Picked some Saskatoon berries over the weekend (2kg just from what’s hanging over the fence!)

Now waiting for it to cool…

We had “Pogo” as kids a few times — I did not know these were “corn dogs” until much later (pretty sure we just called them pogos)

About once per year, a pileated woodpecker tries to break into our bird feeder. About 6 feet behind it is a peanut feeder *specifically for woodpeckers* that it has yet to notice.

I was recently in Grenoble, France, and saw a bunch of interesting pro-Palestine graffiti, including on the side of the Bastille!

I dunno, wouldn't a good workplace would have a more solid foundation?

As an em-dash enthusiast, I wholly object to this characterization.

Edgar turned 5 today.

I dunno how he still responds to that name, since we call him:
Bobedgar
Bobe
Bob
