I didn’t block 50501 after the initial furor.

I have now blocked them after reading the apology thread. Not because it was offensive or antisemitic (unlike the original), but because it was such an insipid example of the corporate self-praising kind-of apology that I loathe.

Specifically, they laugh at (among other things) speeches like this one.

Check out this, recorded recently in Southampton, England, starting at about 22:08.

BS isn’t, I gather, a deep thinker in general. On this issue, he hasn’t bothered to ask whether people have studied & gathered historical data & reached a consensus on anything. And there’s a LOT of learning on this, even disregarding the international lawyers.

This is facile, ignorant drivel.

The humanitarian justification for invading Iraq was after the fact. Tony Blair loves to pretend now that that was the justification, but it wasn’t. And it wouldn’t have been a close to adequate justification. Only WMD & failing to comply with Security Council resolutions made it even arguable.

And the NYT should be ashamed.

There is no question: a military attack to eliminate the current government (which is what’s on the table) would be immoral & flagrantly illegal. Shame for making it appear that there’s “a case” for it. There isn’t. It’s not debatable.
