I was talking with a friend about support for Trump in immigrant communities in general a few months ago, and he argued one thing that's going on is that Trump has become so closely associated with American identity that some think backing him will help them assimilate.
The only bit of Election Day reporting that's stuck in my head is the undocumented people who were interviewed and said they would have voted for Trump if they could.
