Additionally, although this goes against the instincts of the culture, Gentrification is actually most likely a good thing for cities. See attached links.

Obviously there is inequality in JC, but Asian households are doing far better than White households are, so it's a little weird to say that it's racially motivated.
Fulop has made moves designed to promote equality as well, including restructuring the police force to be more representative.
April 9, 2025 at 7:24 PM
There are two ways of responding to that data, be racist, or point out the systematic causes that lead to this and then work to fix it.

I just don't buy that Fulop is in the first category.
April 9, 2025 at 6:57 PM
The article you cite admits that statistically violent crime committed by black people disproportionately targets other black people, that is just a fact. Obviously the reason why is systemic racism I think we can both agree on that.

I'm sorry, this came off as unnecessarily hostile; I just want don't think this is a winning strategy for Democrat discourse.
April 9, 2025 at 3:34 PM
Biggest nothing burger of all time, white guy says swag and suddenly the world is falling.

And if Fulop was wrong about gun violence in Jersey City I'd love to see the statistics. It's not racist to say we need to help black communities. That's what he was saying.

It might be better for the person consuming (or it might not be)
But objectively, I'd rather my neighbor in an apartment building be an alcoholic then a pothead. Weed stinks, and smoking of any kind ends up polluting the air taking choice away from people in the surrounding area

Thanks

Alright thanks Cambria. Real quick which Lawrence again, my Football rattled brain jumps immediately to Trevor and that can't possibly be the right Lawrence

Can someone point me to the relevant clause in the NY constitution. I desperately want Adams out but I'm not sure that it's within the power of the governor. Let me know if I am wrong, don't have time to research it today.
February 19, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Fulop is certainly a better pick then Mikie. She is beholden to the NJ democrat machine and is taking money from Musks PAC
February 17, 2025 at 10:13 PM
Because what American's are going to want in 2028 after 4 years of this mess is a risky revolutionary. Pete is exactly who the Democrats need to promote. Donald Trump has deluded the country into thinking governing should be like reality tv. It should not. Governing should be about supporting people

Not that I am against women as president, but I don't think there is a clear female candidate that would be a good choice in 2028. Who would it be? Harris already lost. Whitemer?

Line integrals are fun

You could claim that causing extinction is 'bad' but that is a normative statement.

Not insinuating that you are wrong, just trying to widen your perspective a bit.

I find it an interesting philosophical question
February 12, 2025 at 2:35 PM
I think destruction is a matter of perspective philosophically.
Take for example the destruction of the USSR. It's destruction created several nation states. Was it good that the USSR dissolved? It's a matter of perspective.

I'd say the objective fact here is that Humans have capacity for creation
February 12, 2025 at 2:32 PM
The most amazing thing about individual humans is their capacity to cooperate to a ludicrous degree.
February 11, 2025 at 3:12 PM
Bad/Good is a normative statement. The Earth does not care for good or bad. Nature does not care for good or bad. Mass extinction events are not good or bad, they just are.... And then new interesting lifeforms take their place.

Not a progressive because the term is too loaded but me

Excited
February 10, 2025 at 5:35 PM
I'm an urbanist and I'm concerned about the demographics issue, but this feels like a stretch to me. Maybe one of many factors, but I don't think people actually think that logically and directly.
February 10, 2025 at 3:26 PM
So you atleast avoid Long Branch, that's good
February 10, 2025 at 3:11 PM
On the bright side, It's quite possible that any other experience is a step up.

I suppose it's not to bad if you are in Amboy but Asbury, Belmar, Point Pleasant..... yikes
February 10, 2025 at 3:05 PM
I'm so sorry for you.
