Pearls before swine (no, not you).
You can already see something similar if you visit America from Europe, and aren't in its very richest parts. So much of the food and culture millions of Americans consume are branded constructs intended to evoke a memory (or the memory of a memory) of the thing itself.

This IS the future in a fully-automated world. The race the techbros want to win is to be the barons who get to have real experiences - hear a Steinway played, ski the Alps, swim above the barrier reef, touch the stones in Salisbury - and the rest of us, who will need to be satisfied with simulacra.

I'm absolutely furious. Was in a pub last night where instead of "beer", the cask pumps carried "Golden Ale", "Porter" and "IPA".

It is understandable that these are exactly the people who feel the chill breath of AI on their necks...

Yes, it's just like I always say: I will not talk in class and disturb others who are diligently doing their work.

It is not, but the academy in question at the time couldn't fault the methodology which appeared to prove that it was.

There's a story I somehow only half remember where around 1800 a distinguished scientist brought definitive proof of spontaneous generation before the French Academy. Though nobody could dispute his method, it was already considered he must be wrong, and his work was rejected and he lost reputation.

The White House has already got the Scotsman most prone to building golf courses. Most of us would like at least one fewer of his.

Apart from everything else, there's a huge, huge problem with a minister from a UK government saying "a greater Britain, not a littler England" and seemingly nobody in Westminster notices that anymore.

Loved how sincere his whole interview was.

Wasn't pretty but it was beautiful

He himself has said he doesn't care how we pronounce his name, hasn't he? To rhyme with 'gArage' or 'garAge', was the suggestion he gave, though many of us prefer to stick with 'hunt'.

Or when you get a thumping majority, it turns out...

At least we now know what vision of the future John of Patmos was gifted that night, after late cheese.

Though this is a capitalism problem not an AI problem (tulips are still pretty)

Hammy cheese balls? Some kind of "casserole" with marshmallows in it?
Who cares what they do with the turkey!

Does the minister really imagine Jewish parents in Germany had no interest in survival beyond their children's?
