Overall, I like Part 2 because it feels the most JoJo-like. It may not have stands, but the story is fun, the characters are ridiculous, and the fights are some of the most insane in the series. I think the anime recognized that seeing as it has wonderfully wild colors and music too. (Final)

I also love how emotional Joseph is. He's a lot like Johnathan in that way. Joseph can come across as a brat and an asshole (because he is), but that doesn't overwrite his love for his friends. He truly cares about people like Caesar, Erina, and Speedwagon. (8)

Also, this has got to be the funniest part by far. Joseph crawling along the ground and pretending to be dead is genuinely the funniest thing in the whole series. It's made even funnier in animation because it looks straight out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. (7)

I think it's hilarious how Joseph (and humanity has to kind of team up with Nazis. Don't get me wrong, they're all scumbags and I'm so happy that a Nazi dies like, every other chapter. That said, Strohiem is like, the only one here having a good time lol. He's insane. (6)

One of the hardest things about writing can be evolving characters. That said, Araki does an incredible job with both Speedwagon and Erina. They feel like long time friends to the reader and although they've changed, they still carry their old selves with them. (5)

Araki's side characters don't really shine until part 4 and after. That said, Caesar's death hits incredibly hard. I think I can safely say that this panel is the saddest Araki's art has ever made me feel. He really captured such powerful emotions in such a small frame. (4)

Speaking of the Pillar Men, Wamuu is CRIMINALLY underrated. People always forget that the main villain of Part 2 isn't Kars, it's the Pillar Men as a whole. And Wamuu's character and writing rival that of any other part's villain. There are so many highlights of the depth of his personality. (3)

First of all, the art still stays on top. The Pillar Men especially are a highlight of Araki's art and style. He puts so much effort into their details and movements. Again, there's some wonky anatomy, but I think it adds to the charm of the art. (2)

Overall, I really enjoyed my time revisiting PB. It's far from my favorite part, but I liked it more than I anticipated. I found more enjoyment in the pacing, some characters, and especially the art. I have a lot more respect for PB. It's a good part. Plus, who can hate best boy Johnathan? (FINAL)

This might be controversial, but I think I enjoy Araki's sketches more than his finished work. I love the fluidity and expression here. It's hard to find pictures of the extra art online, but the stuff in the books between chapters is lovely. Plus, it's nice to see more of these characters. (7)

Some panels are downright gorgeous. The detail can be off-the-charts. Araki's art style really comes full swing after Johnathan defeats Dio for the first time as adults and it greatly increased my enjoyment reading PB. (6)

"It's not always about the money, Josuke-san."

Yessss. Exactly! It's a wonderful moment where Speedwagon uses his violence for good instead of selfishness. It really shows how much Johnathan has changed him. Such an understated and beautiful moment.

Some translations just aren't as good for some reason. "I reject my humanity," is arguably the best line in all of JoJo's. To see it as "I quit being human" is so disappointing. I bet there are other reasons for this change besides just personal interpretation however. (5)

I'm surprised that some big moments in the anime are glossed over in the manga. This shot of Speedwagon shooting Dio in place of Johnathan might be my favorite moment in all of PB. It's a TINY panel in the manga. (4)

Also, I actually kind of like the bad anatomy and wonky poses. Araki is still figuring out some stuff here, but it has a certain charm. The art definitely "feels" better than it "looks" if that makes sense. Although, maybe I have the luxury of hindsight. (3)

First, I gotta say I'm NOT a fan of these PB, BT, and SDC hardback covers. It's Himbo erasure to twink-ify everyone. Look at how much better Young Johnathan looks here compared to adult Dio. Ugh. Also please please please stop drawing Johnathan with the triangle headband! It's confusing! (2)

Another set. I will keep going until I run out of ideas or die. Whichever comes first.

Genuinely one of the best lines in the whole series. It doesn't get much more "Araki-coded" than this.
