As a practical matter, I agree that people who abstained from voting for Kamala made a mistake.
One can be committed to this, as well as to the fact that the democratic party has no spine and they'd do well to grow one as soon as possible

Certainly true, and more generally, Mamdani actually has a political position. In contrast, you couldn't tell what Dem establishment stands for anymore

Thanks! I really appreciate your updates -- fingers crossed that all this ends soon

What's the status on international pressure on either countries to de-escalate? Has any country, besides KSA, made significant moves in pressuring either India or Pakistan to reach a compromise?

I get where you're coming from. Its a really tricky thing to pin down but its intuitively very easy to spot when the use doesn't make sense

By inconvenient I don't mean "I'm feeling lazy -- so I'll let chatGPT handle this" but rather programming, calculations etc. Of course, any sort of formal writing or creative work should be off the table

I had a particularly interesting conversation about this yesterday where the consensus seemed to be "use A.I. for something you could, in principle do yourself, but find it inconvenient to do so"
Its not a perfect criteria, but one that's along the right line, I think

Its much more likely that China will play a more critical role than the United States in diffusing this conflict

The question of the headline is enough to demonstrate how intenable the pro-life position is

I am also quite surprised by the lack of coverage. I think that the Western media has its hands full with Trump, the Canadian Elections, and the Middle East.
Let us pray that they run out of stories tell

Modi has ran on an excessively nationalistic agenda and the public is now demanding that he fulfill his promises.
Similarly, the Pakistani Army (the de-facto government) is deeply unpopular with the public.
Both governments feel compelled to take military action to boost their popularity at home

It's a case of "nothing happens until it actually does". We've seen skirmishes across Kashmir for many years now -- with the last one happening in 2019.
So, we've had a tendency to brush this aside. What's different now is that India is under severe internal pressure to respond forcefully

I share your sentiment -- but this isn't really a religious issue. People use religion to justify the absurdity of this whole situation, but in reality its a political game played by both sides. Neither government cares about anything besides their political legitimacy

Jinnah isn't the hero of the story but claiming that the British had no hand in how things turned out is simply false and ignores the entire political history of Colonial India.

The most centrist man in human history. I haven't been on twitter for a while but last I was there his entire politics seemed to be "The Democratic Party = Good" and that led him to some really absurd positions
