I wouldn’t call her an opportunist, she truly believes what she speaks on and I wholeheartedly disagree with most of what she speaks on. There’s a reason she’s got huge amount of small dollar donors. And to her credit, look at her district. I’d say she represented it well.

How do those two things equate? A journalist appearing on a platform to discuss something is not allying with the platform?

In this case I was curious because I don’t use Bluesky very often and don’t see alt text on many platforms. It’s pretty cool all the abilities it gives user and the platform!

This flabbergasted you? Making a lot of assumptions aren’t we, haha. On a serious note, this kind of hostility is wild. I asked a question and got it answered and came away supporting alt text and it’s further use even more. I’ve worked on ADA equipment before and usually I can see its use or I ask.

Right! It’s why I used the close captioning reference. I was just curious about how wide spread its use is and what it does/how it helps. It’s been answered and I have no idea why’s it’s turned into such an issue.

Genuinely curious, the many asks for alt text is that asking on behalf of people with disabilities or issues with vision, or is it something like how many people use closed captions now even if they don’t have difficulty hearing it’s just become common?

Gonna be honest, most people are vastly more concerned about housing cost, cost of living and the economy than whatever new scandal the White House has. Affordability is THE issue for the country. Everything else is secondary. It’s hard to care about the scandals when you are treading water.
