This time the world was going to end 2011, the Harold Camping end times prediction, I was on the MARC train back to Baltimore and there was a large group of them who had spent the last day in DC.
And it occurred to me: if they sincerely believed this was the end, why didn’t they upgrade to Amtrak?

I remember waiting in the long line at the Baltimore convention center in April 2020 my first Covid shot. The mood in the line was so hopeful, like we were literally turning a corner as the line moved around the building.
