Love talking about #LFC and #Films and #F1
Right now the problem is Salah feels like he's been made a scapegoat for an underperforming team. He thinks he's got hard lines, you should be letting him prove that isn't the case by giving him a different option.

Think Klopp said as much in his Diary of a CEO interview

Thanks for that! It's not a huge surprise either as Darwin struggled massively last season for shots, which was always his strong point. Clearly a system thing, but then you'd have thought they'd have bought someone who would amplify the shots from LW/RW areas rather than another 9

Ah I've not read it, do you have a link by chance?

*Or a major system flaw
December 5, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I think the issue is there's over a 100% difference between the reality of the number of touches he was getting at NUFC and what he's getting now. Whereas Slot seems to think there's a 50% difference. That's the difference between thinking it's a small issue of a major system flaw.

Outside of that I like Hoeness at Stuttgart, I do appreciate Iraola as well (but he hasn't won anything), Cesc is tactically interesting at Como and of course there's Xabi and Nagelsmann as well. But I don't think, outside of Enrique, there is a slam dunk of a coach available.

If Klopp was off the cards. I'd love Enrique. I think his style of football is the closest to peak Klopp and given his own grief in his life he'd be a good person to work with a group that has been through so much.

But at the same time Slot is part of that consultation, so then why did he want to play completely differently? To be more like PSG? But then Enrique sets PSG up with the kind of aggression you'd see from a peak Klopp. Slot hasn't done anything like that this season.

If you've seen Slot winning the league with goalscoring wingers and a double false 9 with fullbacks who tuck into midfield (and he's happy with that), you go and sign him Wirtz and then (just suggestions) De Ketelaer, Barcola, Minteh, Hato and Geertruida (or similar). You don't do what they've done.
December 4, 2025 at 3:02 PM
You've got intricate false 9s and two very tricky and speedy wide players to add attacking depth but rather than do like for like with the recipe they've gone and given Slot a big bag full of curry powder when he's there still cooking his Ragu

Our recruitment has signed players who love to be part of fast flowing moves from back to front whereas Slot has largely set this team up in something not too dissimilar to Roma under Spaletti in 05/06.

I think there's a middle ground though between what you've seen some want and just not gaslighting the fans.

The playing well shouts have been pushing it from him.

The team now look disjointed, there's no press, there's very little attacking action from us. It's football that loses the fans and based on his interviews I just don't think Slot grasps the situation he finds himself in.
