Music maker. Samsara participant.
I’ve been leaning in to a more natural, acoustic sound this summer. I’d also been writing a lot of songs to process my dread in the face of our societal crash out, and felt like it was time to write about love. “All In” is the result of those impulses. Thanks for listening.

From my heart to yours. “Before We Go” is out everywhere now.

Am I supposed to be accepting what I can’t change or working to change what I can’t accept? Both? How?

In lieu of a good answer, I’ve got a new song coming this Friday.

It’s getting harder and harder for words to meaningfully bridge the gaps between our siloed realities. As a word person, this is hard for me to accept, though it’s also a reason why I’m on this app now. Anyway, I wrote a song about what the breakdown in communication feels like. “people” is out now.

I’m very excited to perform this song and some other new ones this Friday night at Gabe’s in Iowa City.

There was a murmuration above a field of miscanthus.

I’m perpetually trying to renegotiate my contract with reality. I lobby for more and get reminded of the terms. Music is still the best mediator I’ve found, and making these songs allowed for some of my most uncompromised moments this year. I hope they open something up for you, too.

I wrote this verse as a way to purge some frustration from my system— frustration with my own psychological loops and with the chaos and confusion in our collective conversation right now. It helped a little.

I didn’t know exactly what “Rent in LA” was about exactly when I was writing it, but I definitely was in a mood. I think a lot of it was frustration. It’s exhausting having to compromise with a compromised world, yet we keep showing up, coming to terms.

Hey BlueSky! I’m an independent artist making songs that combine bedroom pop, indie soul and alternative hip hop. I’m looking to connect with more musicians and creatives on here. This is a snippet of a song called “dreamstrengthemotion.”

Pond scum sucks up oxygen
When the suns gone past the roof
Man how does all this bullshit live
When it can’t survive the truth
Who won
Who wants me
Oh I’m sick to death of those two
This restless cynical hunting
Hang dog look I can’t cut loose

I really loved Prophet Song by Paul Lynch but am not stoked for the fully immersive experience here.

Hi Bluesky. Man, it is far less hellish on here than Over There. I’m an artist/producer from Iowa (of all places) and would love to connect with some kind and creative people. Here is a snippet from a song I released a couple days ago. If you dig it, give me a follow and I’ll follow back. #music
