(You'll only get it if you can read music pretty well.)

If you're not familiar with Bloom's Taxonomy, this doesn't mean that creativity comes last. It means that it is the highest form of learning.
What stifles creativity is rigid instruction, test prep, and environments (read: "standardized testing") that reward right answers over original thought.

Sandra Scheuer:
Born 1949 Youngstown OH
Died May 4, 1970 at Kent State, shot thru the throat with an M-1 rifle from a distance of 13 yards while walking between classes.
Not related (as far as I know) but seeing the name personalized the day for me.
It feels like we're headed back in this direction.

Spent my morning at Menomonie M.S. judging bands &, a 1st-time-ever experience, string orchestras.
Another 1st: I worked with a 100-piece 7th grade band. Managed to convince them they COULD play softer when they weren't the melody... Actually a very good band!

Judging job #12 this year. I was a brass judge for MiddleLevelHonorsAuditions @ EauClaire NorthstarMS. Lots of terrific grade 6-8 trumpet, horn, euphonium & tuba players.
This is my idea of fun!
Now a short break before judging 2 rounds of state solo & ensemble
