"The Chase" - not sure why these eagles where chasing each other, but I suspect it had to do with a stolen fish. From a quick trip yesterday over to Hood Canal.

Lowest tides of the year this week! More of the critters lurking under the ferry dock: lots of Sea Stars, a Red Rock Crab devouring a Sea Cucumber, and lots of Moon Snail egg cases (which look like broken, grey plastic toilet plungers).

Lowest tides of the year this week! More of the critters lurking under the ferry dock: lots of Sea Stars, a Red Rock Crab devouring a Sea Cucumber, and lots of Moon Snail egg cases (which look like broken, grey plastic toilet plungers).

A Lewis' Moon Snail underneath the ferry dock this morning. The hard shell is about 4" in diameter, while the soft "foot" extends out another 4" or so. Lowest tides of the year this week, making it easier to see amazing sea critters like these.
