A kid took one and we told him to take candy too. He said, “No, I’m good”. My friend had to borrow potatoes from two different neighbors. Kids were walking back to the street saying, “I GOT A POTATO!”. We had a total of 49 kids and gave out 18 potatoes.

Something I did not know about sunflowers: After the main flowers dried up and the little yellow finches ate all the seeds, small buds sprouted at the base of the leaves and are opening up into tiny sunflowers!

This is the first time in a couple years that I saw turkeys in my back yard. The little ones are so damn cute, and you can barely see them in the high grass.

My first sunflower opened up this week and had a little visitor today! I didn’t even plant any - my neighbor had some last year and they managed to migrate over to a couple of pots on my deck.
