thank you to anyone who's listened & enjoyed this album. i'm not sure why, but i've always found a kind of comfort in horror, and i think i'm not the only one that feels that way...

"Reviving Aerith" began life as a cut outro for "exotic volcano" from the previous album, Minus Worlds. it was the first of my songs to be played on Triple J (a big youth radio station here in Aus), which surprised me at the time because it's a drone composition without drums, or even a pulse really

i actually always thought about AC's final 3 tracks as a loose analogue to the end suite on gorillaz' Demon Days... a feeling of moving from Earth to Heaven to Hell (but maybe in a different order.) the flow of that suite is something that has inspired me since i was little.

A.C. was inspired by many things: debussy's "image music" preludes for piano, mark fisher's "the weird & the eerie", the intentional or unintentional eeriness of Myst, junji ito, of course silent hill - both sonically and conceptually... many many great and inspiring things
