It may be cosplay but give them room to do their dance. GOP always threatens to shut down the government without putting up any plan. So if they think that they are so brilliant let them put up an actual plan and see if they can even get to half of the spending cuts that they are claiming.

Right, but these seats are going to be vacant for a few months so it will be hard for GOP to push things through in the beginning. They practically need unanimity just to elect a Speaker. Sound familiar?

If Democrats get two of the remaining three seats CA13 and CA45 with Gaetz gone and Stefanik and Waltz appointed, GOP will have to work with only 217 members until special elections are held. If they somehow bag all three GOP will need unanimity in order to elect a Speaker.

Good piece Stuart. Do you think MAGA can endure past Trump? I keep thinking that future MAGA candidates are all going to look like JD Vance and Kari Lake and the whole thing will be kind of a shooting star. The frustration will still be there but no one will likely be able to galvanize it.

In this day and age I can see the practical side of posting the Ten Commandments in schools. If kids want a future in MAGA they have to violate at least eight out of ten so knowing what they are is very important.
