Do it. The adaptation is fantastic. Definitely a few differences but fully does the story justice IMO.

What also makes me sad is that (at least) the current streaming version (that I paid for) on Amazon has messed up closed captions and doesn’t include the translations on the key scene near then end where the alien is explaining to Louise why they are there.

This is Arrival for me. Maybe i was dense but the end hit me like an absolute ton of bricks. Never had a movie that I’ve enjoyed rewatching as much, I pick up new hints every time I watch it.

Have you seen any of the astroturf ads that have been airing in the DC area claiming Trump will solve cancer by 2029? They're very bizarre and completely unavoidable right now in the DC/Northern VA market.
