My lazy AI-ing suggests it’ll just work(tm). I’m sure something can be Jerry-rigged 😀

Note I’d imagine you could use coax instead of twisted pair (electrically) and it’d work - certainly better than barbed wire 🤣

Ah fun! I actually worked on the model for the first DSLAM vectoring implementation, twisted pair was so leaky accounting for cross talk between neighbouring pairs in v large bundles worked well. Coax supports such high frequencies, and shielded I imagine the tech wouldn’t be so applicable

Isn’t this the sort of thing MoCA is for? You can get 2.5Gbps over coax vs 200Mbps of lightly twisted pair for VDSL?

If it trips instantly you have an earth leak. The tripping is stopping you from electrocuting yourself!

I mean you definitely shouldn’t need to do this. But it sounds like any tool to help identify source of leaks could be useful. I suspect some installers are still using soap and water or a few minutes of pressure testing which clearly isn’t sufficient.

Perhaps something like this would help the sensitivity should be good enough to detect small leaks in the joints and fix once and for all?
