Yes, the US just voted in a narcissistic criminal as their president. This high functioning orangutang posing as a human got the top job. Trump has no idea about geopolitics, no idea about solving complex internal problems, no idea about how to run a country. This is not going to be a fun ride.

It’s more about rewriting history to suit the governments agenda. Communism doesn’t exist in China, it’s socialism. They swapped the fields and village kitchens for the assembly line long ago. But there are similarities and the Chinese still have a collective mentality.

America is complicated also. There has been generational brainwashing by the CCP/CPC, the opinions of the average Chinese citizen are on the whole aligned with their governments. The CPC would never label the Qing as foreign invaders, it would open up a can of worms

There is also the fact the Qing were a foreign invader, a conquest dynasty, not Chinese. So after they were defeated Taiwan would have landed back in the hands of the ROC anyway.

Part of that generations education came about through the switch from books written in traditional Chinese to simple Chinese what a great way to start a fresh and make rewriting history so easy 😉

The Qing were very good at assimilating themselves into Han culture and the Mings style of governance. Whilst keeping Manchu bloodlines and culture alive at the top. They were smart rulers. And to this day the Chinese government will not acknowledge they were foreign invaders.

Yes, and it’s Xi’s number one goal to correct (get revenge) in his lifetime the 100 years of humiliation. The foreigners were to blame. It’s all their fault. Not those at the top of the greedy Qing empire. The Chinese won’t acknowledge the Qing allowed it all to happen.

Yes, I think it’s very likely Xi will take advantage of Russias weakened economy and military. The time is right and Russia is ripe for the picking. History has shown unequal treaty’s are time bombs, even hundreds of years down the track.

PRC won the civil war in China but failed to do so in Taiwan. There was no surrender, no resounding defeat of the ROC forces under the KMT. The ROC relocated to Taiwan vowing to take back China from the communists. Years later let go of that aim. Somewhat similar situation to DPRK and Sth Korea.

4. Therefore the CPC has no claim over Taiwan. They lost their chance to defeat the ROC in Taiwan long ago. It failed and 75 years has passed since, so its too late now.. its a done deal. Taiwan belongs to its 26 million peeps, not China.

3. The ROC is the successor to the Qing, therefore Taiwan is rightfully in their possession. So is China, however they lost the war in China and the ROC has abandoned any take-back plans. ROC is just Taiwan these days.

2. Absolute fact: Taiwan has not been a part of China since ancient times. But you cannot tell the Chinese that. Taiwan was occupied by the Qing Empire for a long time, and was a province for a few years before the Qing were defeated and the ROC took power, this was before the PRC was established.

Its not that simple, and a lot has changed since the civil war. ROC doesn’t claim sovereignty over China, thats long been abandoned. Taiwan belongs to the 26million people of Taiwan. It has statehood, though most of the world is too gutless to acknowledge it.

Not on his radar. Not strategically important at this time also. But it may become very important if China decides to put Taiwan on hold and launch an attack on Vladivostok population 600K, with the aim of taking back Outer Manchuria.
