Dan is a chemical warfare expert and his advice is sound: tear gases (CS, CN, and OR pepper spray) sting and burn like acids, but chemically they aren’t. Antacids don’t help.
Milk is also not any more useful than water to remove them (another myth) and will end up irritating your eyes on its own.
Tear gas and pepper spray are not acids. They don’t cause a burning sensation because they are acids. Using antacids is a placebo at best and, in your eyes, a cause of injury
