Why am I so against generative AI in games?
Because I simply do not want my initial reaction to art to be one of suspicion and scrutiny, AI slop is fundamentally damaging my relationship to art and artistry, and I am deeply resentful that it is forcing me to be guarded when I should be wowed.

Perhaps because I had all the sad burned out of me with “Lies of P: Overture,” but getting into “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” took me awhile. While the music, art design, and characterization was all on-point for me, the gameplay took some getting used to. The parry-timing. (1/2)

Legitimately one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen are Greek vase-paintings, stamping mythic scenes and athletic victories onto the objects of the everyday. Sipping wine from a pretty cup while Orpheus awakens the rocks and rills with his voice, it’s magical. I wish we still did this…

Not gonna lie, one of my favorite films is “Field of Dreams (1989),” for many reasons, but especially James Horner’s score. Delicate, sweeping, moving. “The Drive Home” might be one of the best tracks ever. Want your daddy-issues and hope with a side of good ole American pastime, watch this film! 🎥
